Lightbulb GB: Bi-xenon HID PROJECTOR - SakeBomb Garage

SakeBomb Garage presents:

We all know that the stock headlights on the Rx-7 are vastly inadequate for driving at night. We finally decided to fix this problem once and for all. SakeBomb Garage is pleased to offer the first and only true 'pop-up' Bi-Xenon Projector HID kit for the FD.

FD owners: Welcome to the 21st Century.

HID Lighting 101:
Other HID “kits” use the stock headlight housing in conjunction with a Xenon bulb. The plus side, they are unbelievably cheap. The negative side? Typically these setups:
-blind other drivers
-have a horrible field of view
-severely scatter the light
-have uneven lighting with no cutoff
-actually WORSEN your night vision (they throw intense light into the foreground (actually making your pupils close) causing your distance night-vision to become worse than with your stock halogen lights)

Projector HID's on the other hand are what is used in every OEM HID lighting setup. Our Projectors:
-Have a very even dispersion of light
-Have a very wide dispersion of light
-Have a very long throw (with high beams)
-Illuminate much larger portions of the road while not ruining your night vision
-Oh yeah, and they don't blind other drivers, or attract attention from people who may or may not drive Crown Victorias

To truly see the difference you need to see our kit in person, pictures honestly don’t do it justice.

The SakeBomb Garage Projector HID kit is plug and play. Simply pop out your own lights, trim the headlight bucket, pop in the new lights, and connect the ground and power cable.

HIGHLIGHTS:
~New headlight housings, with bi-xenon (high/low) projectors
~Optically clear projector lenses
~New (OEM) Philips 4300K bulbs.
~High quality 35 watt weatherproofed ballast
~Plug and play wiring harness specifically for the FD

At the request of a few forum members, we are offering as an option the Mistubishi Generation 4 35w OEM ballast, to replace the aftermarket ones included in our standard kit. Functionally these are the same 35w output as the aftermarket ballasts, so the light output will be the identical. It's basically a name brand vs generic choice, but we wanted to give people the option to choose.

Pricing:
$750 - Standard
$830 - Upgraded Ballasts

(Buyer pays actual shipping cost)

As you can clearly see (no pun intended ), these are not your cheap h4 conversion kit lights. There is an unbelievable amount of work which goes into creating each kit, but once you install these lights in your car you will quickly realize why you could NEVER go back to anything else! This kit, while retaining the stock appearance, brings to the FD the lighting quality and output of this decade!

NOTE **Unfortunately we got our subforum on RCC a little late. The current GB we are running is ending at the end of THIS MONTH (OCTOBER)!! Payments must be made by Nov. 1st to be included in this GB. **

Please include (Forum name), (Standard/Upgraded Ballast), (Your zip)

This looks pretty decent! I have a few questions though,

Do you have any pictures of the retrofit? Is the the projector fitted into a stock reflector housing, usable with the stock shroud ect?

What projectors are used with this kit?

Do you have pictures of the cut off against a wall? Has the cut off been modified in any way, for sharpness or flicker?

How were the ballasts weatherproofed? Silicone dipped or thermally conductive epoxy inside?

Is there any rotational adjustment for the projectors to level/line the cut off up?

Shipping to Canada?

Thanks

Hey, Thanks for your interest. We had everything in slideshows but unfortunately RCC wont accept HTML code so we cant display the slide shows we have of all of the parts. I'll post pics and video of everything but all of the explanations that normally go along with our pictures wont be there.

Shipping to Canada is not a problem and we can get a price quote for you if you are interested. The projectors we use are FX projectors with optically clear lenses. The cutoff is very sharp and does have blue/purple flicker at the top of the cutoff. The ballasts are weather-sealed (i believe a silicone gasket... though I havent taken them apart). Yes the lights can be adjusted up/down and L/R just like stock using the stock adjustment screws I'll post pics, video, and sideshows below. -Heath

PAYMENTS:

Paypal - sakebombgarage@gmail.com

e-check payment is preferred as we are not charged the 3% paypal fee for the transaction, and therefore don't pass any extra cost on to the customer (either up front in the price or afterwards in the payment process). **Please add 3% to the total if using STANDARD paypal.** We decided that it would be better to NOT build in this 3% into to the cost up front, but give customers the option to save the money. Unfortunately it adds some confusion to the payment process. (Please contact me if you choose to pay using e-check, and need any assistance using it. Basically paypal's e-check function is free because it withdraws money from your bank account instead of credit card... I guess paypal likes that method better and therefore does not charge for it) -Heath

What sort of time frame should I be expecting for this? I'd love to have them by next April.
