single turbo conversion
well the time is rapidly approaching for me to tear into the car and go from basically stock to total single turbo. i have a few questions that im unsure of right now.
i plan on doing a full emissions removal and AWS removal but want to be able to keep the rock solid idle i have always had. so question one is do i need to keep anything beside the BAC valve? or am i totally off on that? keep in mind the car still has PS and A/C. when installing the turbo itself (35R) i have seen/heard of people "clocking" it to the side for various reasons. do i need to to do this for the life of the turbo? does it give better drainage for the oil? i have never been able to get a rock solid answer on this subject. i guess thats all the questions i have for now. thanks in advance for the answers, and please dont post if you are just guessing, thanks!!

There are two clockings. The CHRA should be clocked for best oil flow (top to bottom) if posible but it does not have to be pure verticle. If the fittings for oil or water have clearance problems, just rotate a little. But I would not have the oil lines off more than 45 degrees from vertical.
Clock the compressor housing for best fit of you pipes. Last edited by cewrx7r1; 03-04-2008 at 12:41 PM.. |
