You can slide a small stone burr in a Dremel tool fore and aft till the case turns blue. It will then collapse and will be easily removed. Even if you go a little too far it won't hurt the shaft.

I used this to pull mine and it came right out. The only bad thing with this is buying it. Other than that it is extremely handy for all kinds of things. |

+1. Best tool I've found for the rotary pilot bearings, comes with a slide hammer, and succeeded in removing a bearing I'd spent hours and 3 other rented tools on. Plus, it's only like, $40.
