lol you only need one cat on your car to pass any smog test... i have a mid pipe coming from my stock header. in other words I have no precats. and my car is smogged and passed.. but thats with a new cat.

This is why I register all my cars in a county that has no emissions laws

Hell, even my TJ Wrangler barely passes most emissions tests FROM THE FACTORY (which is why they now have V6s in them )

Yeah, WE3RX7, my co-worker says to do that.

Last time I got my 10AE to pass it had a new cat and I was running G2P. It didn't pass the next year though.

I passed in Arizona with an RB header, cat, air pump, charcoal canister, and full emissions removal besides the charcoal canister and air pump obviously. I passed easily.

Misfiring is your biggest enemy for the Hydrocarbons. Run stock timing and get some load on the engine at idle (headlights, heater motor, etc.) it really helps idle emissions.

Make sure that you have good engine grounds, the 3800 rpm hesitation has gotten me a fail before (full driving cycle test though).

Like they all said, get a functional cat and an air pump and all is good.

The EGR is completely unnecessary too (can still pass emissions without it).

I pull in, the guys smile at me, check the horn and lights then put a sticker on it.

I know you should make sure you're fully warmed up and driven some but does/would it help to run the hell out of it before going to get it checked?

Not really. Just make sure it's warmed up. If you need to cheat you can use alcohol in the tank.
