Yep, like a giant heat sink. It is hard to get it hot enough. Yeah I would just use or borrow an impact.

I had one engine that was really stubborn and already out on the floor. I took
some 2" x 2" angle iron and drilled holes and mounted it to the mounting bolts
on the front housing (12A) and then slipped a 6' iron pipe over my 25" breaker
bar. Before that I heated it up real good with a torch. Even then I had to
bounce on it hard a couple of times before it broke loose.

That bolt seems to gall together with the pulley mount hub and the shaft until
they are one! I've had more issues with those than any flywheel nut ever.

Finally got it. We used a longer pipe and I stood on the engine stand while my dad leaned on the pipe.

I pulled the front cover, breathed a sigh of relief when I confirmed I ordered the right gasket/o-ring combo, then promptly sliced my thumb open on the CAS drive gear .
