You won't have any issues with the cluster at all., because you can't use the s4 electronics. The blocks are identical enough, but the electronics and emissions are different.

Things you can do:
- Use the s5 N/A harness if you are not using emissions.
- Change the throttle body (TPS), front cover, and all electronics (ecu, AFM, map, injectors) to S5 TII spec
- Block off emissions incl EGR

Things you can't:
Use the s4 harness
Use the s4 turbo electonics incl omp and injectors

yes i definatly don't plan to have emissions lol. now by turbo electronics, i can use a S4 Turbo right? or am i looking for a S5 Turbo right away??

That confuses me. If you have a non turbo car like I thought you said........they have a voltage gauge. So it'll keep on working. Nothing has changed to make it not work. It gets its power from the Meter fuse in the interior box and has zip to do with the harness on the engine (EM).

Use a series four ECU and EM harness?? It can be done but to tell you the truth........if YOU could do it you would not be asking these questions. You could learn but right now you don't know what is involved. The series four EM harness plugs will not interface with the series five harness much less the series five ECU in case you were thinking about using that item. This is not an insulting statement and was not meant to be. Just the way I see things and nothing more.

Actually just hanging the series five MOP on the harness and using the stk series four OMP and it's rod that connects to the throttle linkage means you don't have to slop oil in the gas tank. I forgot that.

And another thing.......if one used the series four EM harness on the engine........then you automatically lose the connection b/t the CAS and the ECU. That wiring is in the EM harness on a series five but on the series for the CAS wiring to the ECU passes thru the Engine harness then to the Front harness and then to the ECU. Those wires for the CAS won't exist anymore if the EM harness is changed from series five to series four.

That is one small example of why one NORMALLY would not TRY to put a series four EM harness on a series five car. Just one example.

I might have misunderstood the question you had about the VOLTAGE you mentioned. If so say so.

about the voltage, i didn't know it wasnt part of the engine harness, so that makes me feel better.




So, pretty much best and easiest chance of getting this up and running ASAP is "updating to a S5" Motor.
