I bought an '88 TII. It has a pretty bad oil leak on the back rotor housing gasket that goes between the back rotor housing and the rear iron. It's on the driver's side near the top. Its to the left of the oil filter. To fix this would I only need the gasket in between those two? It has great compression so I didn't really want to completely rebuild it or is there a way to temporarily fix it until I can save for a full rebuild? I was thinking something like jb welb or a really good high temp epoxy?

There is no gasket between the rotor housing and any of the irons.
If it's oil, it could either be...
1) o-rings on oil filter pedestal - relatively easy fix with relatively easy o-rings you get from the Mazda dealer
2) o-rings on the dowel pin - NOT easy to fix without taking the motor apart

Also check the oil pressure sensor within the same area...

could be a cracked dowel land

if the o-rings were leakning for some time you would have a shit load of krud built up in that area. HOPE for that because if not, the rear dowel area is cracked. ** Was the FC modded and driven hard??

No it hasn't been ran in a year. The iron is cracked unfortunatly.

Ouch. I guess you need one of three things:

A new rear Iron
A TIG
Some JB Weld.

(Sorted by quality of repair).

Thanks. Im just going to get a new iron so it won't result in problems later on.
