BP 20b GT42R Formula D FC3S build.
I could swear I posted this here. I guess I am on crack. :x
Basically I'm gonna throw together a mishmash of the current progress from other forums that I have posted this on. I'm in Vegas for SEMA right now, so I'll post some other crap when I get home probably. So basically, all the cars are being built in BRE Motorsports out of Concord, NC Throwing together a 3-rotor drift car, a nice FD "show" car, and my weekend warrior S5 TII. First, I bought the car like three years ago. Maybe four, I forget. Whenever I first started driving. Bought some 1988 Turbo II RX-7 with a 0 compression motor. Rebuilt it with a buddy of mine. Sold it, and then bought the one I am currently working on. I bought it from a buddy of mine named Hiro, he was an exchange student from the ol' Japanz land. It was all right, kinda quick for what it was. Nasty lookin' though. Flat black, non-fittin' body kit. blahblahblah the whole shabang. It had shitty suspension, all that shit. I never felt like doing anything to it until I fried my turbo. Actually, I dunno what was wrong with it. It was a big free POS anyway. So I parked the car after daily driving it for like two or two and a half years. Where it sat, for a year maybe. So I got tired of letting it sit. And went to start her up and take her for a ride one day. Given it's rotary, it wasn't too fond of that. So it took a bit of work. Anyway, long story shot. Them wires was soooo fucking rigged some shit fried and then it sat more. Wiring sucks. Anyway so I had a bit of luck recently, and decided I was tired of letting her sit in my backyard and threw some ideas at Tex up and BRE, and we talked about it quite a bit, and finally got the car up there. The current plan is a bridgeport 20b single turbo set up. I was gonna go with an NA ITB set up, but I feel gay without boost. Since I've never really owned a car that wasn't boosted. Here's some pictures from the good ol days. When it looked like a piece and was still quick. Wow, single exhaust. I just realized how old these pictures are. lmfao So when we finally got it up to the shop, we ripped everything out. And since I don't see the point in making multiple build threads. I'm gonna cram a couple other cars in this one. I originally had little plans for this car other than to 99 spec it out. But I've decided to make it into a little bit of a monster. So, the idea currently is streetport, GT35R, all that good stuff. Don't have a lot done to it currently. Coilovers, intercooler, intake, exhaust, LSD, etc etc Some turbo related goodies for the 3-rotor Now! Here is my S5 TII when I first picked it up. A buddy of mine owned it and let it sit for like three years under some trees, as you can see. And a quick spray down! Before After Coilovers for the S5 Also, Carbonetics 2 way for the FD, still neatly wrapped. Which is now of course in the car. A couple shots of the 20b. Woop Half ass clean interior shots. Of the white S5 When the cage was in the works in the 3-rotor FC Now, as everyone knows. When you drift, you crash! I am especially no exception. Bahahahaha This one could have been prevented though, it happened 'cause I didn't wanna stop despite the fact my extra tires had not arrived on the track yet. So I went out with bald tires and had no grip. Wooooo Pedals and fuel cell in the drift car. Random powder coated stuff. Thanks to Exotics Inc. out of Winston Salem, NC! They are the shit. Crazy ass colours ftw. Also, I wanna thank everyone that has helped with this car so far. Especially BRE Motorsports, Exotics Inc, FNO Chassis shop, and Mazdatrix Last edited by Rotary no Densetsu; 02-25-2011 at 12:40 PM.. |

Nice builds. Too bad about the FD, that is why drifting is bad

I'm loving the cage in the FC. I hope I can do that to my tired 202k-mile beast some day, track cars FTW.
And that white TII looks almost exactly like my friend's FC that he just sold, even the missing paint patterns are kind of similar. Looks like a great find, cleaned up well.

Yeah, BRE used to not touch rotary really. But since I came around last year, I've kinda inspired Tex to dig it a little more. So we are doing a whole rotary R&D thing now. So expect a lot of things out of us in the future. |
