Default How do you guys put a 4-5 point harness in your 8?

I bought some recaros for the 8 when I track it.. Just curious what do most 8 owners hook up the 4/5 point harness?? Do you use the rear seatbelt clip? Just wanted to get some ideas.

I haven't tracked my RX-8 yet (plan to start next spring), but I was planning on using the CG-Lock seat belt lock:

Eventually I may replace the OEM seats, and Recaros were what I was most interested in. What model of Recaros did you get, and how did you hook them up? Do they sit a bit lower than OEM? I'm 6'3" and I'm concerned that with a helmet on, I'm not going to fit in my RX-8 so well (I have the power moon roof, which I didn't particularly want).

I'll have to see if I can get some pics from my old 8s harness setup.. Essentially we used removed the rear seats and used a bracket secured to the vertical part where your back would usually seat. It wasnt perfectly level but it was within my comfort zone of safety.

Never hooked up the submarine point though...

Honestly to mount the harness properly you need some kind of roll bar, maybe even a 4pt roll bar for instance. Never use the built in anchors they are only rated for child seats. As for the lap belts, mount those to the floor board using the proper eyelets anchored by steel mount plates on the under side of floor board.

We used SafeCraft 5 pt harnesses on our track cars and in our race cars. I'll have to look for some pics of the lap belts mount locations.
