Default Project GTUs #3

Well I picked up this GTUs from JunPower since there ever many changes in his life and he didn't have much time to work on it. He sold it to me for about $1500. It needs works but runs like a beast. hehe
under 75,000 miles and all the standard goodies that come with the GTUs. hehe.

Default Major Problem #1

mmm waterpump seems to have begun failing; there is a leak some where around the waterpump or the hose is leaking. It all started Sat. afternoon it was pretty hot too, high 80's. Strange garling sound came from the front of the car. I thought I was the pliot bearing but not yet. turns out that sound was from water resvoiur. Sucked it almost empty but I put water in there asap and drove it really slowly and kept eyes on the temp. gauge. It didn't move from its normal position. so I drove it slowly from Hayward to Oakland didn't heat up at all. The pulley on the waterpump shakes and rattles even at idle so I know im going have to swap it from my other rx7.

well i put my other water pump in and I happened to break a bolt off in the waterpump.. grrr.. and im still not done putting the engine bay back together. today was very long day and the engines front cover was covered in grease and dirt, I managed to clean up some of it. ANd its still dirty, but I still haven't checked the rear end and transmission fuilds. Im sure there fine but its good to check though. Life has gotten so busy every since I got the GTUs mmm thats a good. Many things to do, keeps me busy and sharp.

just got my water pump, thermostat and gaskets today ! YAY ! maybe it'll be running friday or sat afternoon.

Everything is on Aug. 22nd.
i got everything in on sat. LOL i lost the radiator cap when I pulled the radiator. So I bought a brass or copper oil drain plug from autozone with a rubber washer and it fit. Car runs good now expect I noticed it doesn't warm up to the middle point. It right below the middle point. Iono what it is but as long as it doesn't overheat its all good. now the pliot bearing is making noise... well at least it runs good for now. I also removed the whole a/c unit and lines. Cruise control is gone too. Feels lighter and alot more familiar. not bad for a $128.16 repair. thanks Atkinsrotary!
