Talking MY 13B-RE Fd single turbo build(standing up for the Rotary) lots of pics

In the midst of a world of RX-7's with V8's, im standing my ground and keeping my swap Rotary. Thats the point of owning an RX-7, because of its unique motor and body design.

Although i have thought bout the V8 swap(ls2 swap), espcially after riding in my friends LS1 fc(making 462 to the wheels). I love rotaries to much to do that.
dont get me wrong, V8 RX's are fun and fast. but Rotary= PURE AWSOME.

so here we go.

My plan is build a Great FD that is track ready, yet streetable and looks great.

I plan on tracking the FD atleast 2 times a month. I want to prove to People that Rotaries are as, if not more Reliable than piston motors.

my Goal was to make 380hp at 11-13psi, but after more research on the GT35R, ill be making more than that

The Chasis: 93 RX-7 FD3S Base model. Silver with black interior. no sun roof. 90k miles on the chasis. Tokico whites with neuspeed springs.

the Chasis has been sitting since 2000. close to 10yrs.....

I plan on painting the car a purple. still have not decided what shade to go with yet.

The break down of my Set up:
of what i have and what im going to get.
  • The motor set up:
  • 13B-RE Streetported Irons and Ported Exhaust(which a friend and I have done)
  • FD Bearings
  • Solid corner seals
  • Rotary aviation apex Super seals
  • Ported throttle body
  • the motor is converted to FD(oil pan, front cover, water pump and pulleys)
  • Custom motor mounts

Fuel set up:
  • Custom Fuel rails (made by turblown)
  • SS fuel rail lines
  • Aeromotive Fuel pressure regulator
  • Supra twin turbo fuel pump
  • Baffle/surge tank( going to get one fabricated soon)
  • Aeromotive A1000 external fuel pump
  • injectors (still dont know what size cc to get...)

Turbo set up:
  • RE-Amemiya T4 Turbo manifold
  • GT35R T4 Garret(still have to buy)
  • Wastegate(not sure what to get as of yet)
  • SS oil lines for Turbo

Exhaust Set up:
  • Apexi GT Spec 4 inch cat back

Oil cooling:[LIST][*] custom Dual oil coolers (from JRX rotary)

Intercooler set up:
  • Custom vmount set up(will fabricate later on)
  • Radiator (not sure what to get)
  • HKS SSQ BOV
  • Carbon fiber Duckting(still making it)

Managements Ecu, boost:
  • Power FC
  • Greddy Profec B type 2 boost controller

Also plan on running Water/meth injection

Chasis(things im going to get):
  • 99 spec conversion
  • D-Max Carbon fiber D1 style vented hood( still have to buy)
  • bushing kit( still not sure which to get)
  • canards(still have to buy)
  • upgraded sway bars(still have to buy)
  • Rear carbon defuser(still have to buy)

suspension:
im still not sure what coilover set i should get...

Wheels:

Enkei RPF01's

17x9 +22 245/40/17

17x10 +18 275/40/17

(super aggressive fitment )

Interior:
  • Nardi Deep corn suede 340MM steering wheel
  • Rx8 shift knob
  • pink ebrake billet
  • Defi gauges(still need to buy)
  • Roll cage(still need to buy)

I know im still missing a lot of stuff, but heres some pics.. enjoy.

Any and all criticism is welcome.

dropping off the parts to get cleaned and assembled by Lucky 7 Racing in Duarte CA.

My FD oil pan needs to get welded up before i slap her on..

still waiting on my motor mounts to get made.....

and still waiting on more money...

also i plan on getting my Upper and lower intake manifolds powder coated purple(sorry im ghetto) ... need feed back...

also i might want to upgrade my pulley set up and get the unorthodox(however you spell it) pulleys

also mocked up my RE-Amemiya Turbo manifold, along with my oil filter relocation, and custom fuel rails and regulator.

but heres some pics.. Enjoy

Note: my room is messy, my carpet is stained with oil, cuz ive torn apart motors in my room haha..
