Default Running without Injector Mixing Plates?

Just wondering if anyone has completely/permantently removed their secondary injector mixing plates...?

Mine snapped off of the air bleed during my rebuild , but i noticed that the perforations in the plate were pretty dirty and completly clogged, so i don't see what good it could have been doing anyway.

and frankly, i don't really wanna spend 35 bucks for another one.

Has anyone had any success or problems running their motor without them?
Idle problems? Problems at high revs?

At the RPM's they normally kick in, you really don't need them.
As for the perforations being clogged, it doesn't really matter - the fuel does not need to shoot through them to be effective.

The big problem is that the fuel injector (tip) actually sits in them.
Without them, they will not center in their holes.
The lower grommet actually seals the tips, so this might or might not be a problem.

The injector will probably work it's way down into the LIM until it falls out of the fuel rail. That causes a problem. I don't know if this can happen with a stock rail, I'd imagine it can, it happened with my Marren rails/injectors when a grommet wasn't installed.

If you broke the two supports for the perforated plate off the upper part with the o-rings you should be ok for injector support. I noticed a difference in starting without the primary deflectors, it might have hurt on-throttle response too (there were several factors involved).

Primary ones should always be replaced.
There just isn't enough intake velocity to allow for good mixing of the fuel with the incoming air.
This is why you see degraded idle and low RPM's response.

The OP was just talking about secondaries.

yea it was one of my secondary plate supports (just the botom part that holds the plate). My primary ones are okay so i'll definately use those. and I guess i'll snap the other supports/plates off of the other secondary air bleed socket, and just use them as spacers to ensure the injectors fit right. ...As long as it doesnt harm performance

I know Ted, I should've mentioned that it was my secondary injector that fell from the fuel rail. Started pissing fuel all over a pair of hot turbo's. I got lucky. VERY lucky.
