phenolic intake gaskets -- experiences?

Wondering if anybody has tried phenolic intake gaskets and has any results?

Supposedly, this type of gasket reduces heat conduction through the block into the intake manifold (and from intake manifold into charge air). This seems good in theory, but am curious just how much this really helps compared to good heat-shielding and a properly ventilated engine bay.

vex will become famous soon enough
The phenolic will do what it says, the trouble is that the intake itself is being heated by radiation/convection more so than through conduction. Given that there are still areas of high heat transfer from the block to the manifolds themselves (studs/bolts, etc). The trouble is aluminum has a wonderful heat transfer coefficient which will transport heat throughout the entire piece until a cooling agent has been applied. If you've already fixed the venting of hot air and convection currents, then I would purchase the gasket as a final step. Beyond that I highly doubt you'll see anything similar to what they claim.
