HELP! Car broke on the way home-DGRR
Hey Guys,
On my way back to Canada, Car broke down while driving. Had to get it towed to a Hampton Inn Parking lot, in Beckley, West Virginia. I was just driving down the highway, heard a load pop similar to a backfire, the car stalled; couldn't get it started again. After some troubleshooting on the side of the road, found that the car cranks over, and has full power. Leads me to think it's fuel issue. I found a blown EGI fuse, but I don't have any more fuses. I don't think the fuse will fix the issue, something is causing it to blow. Any one have any ideas? or is there anyone in West Virginia that can drop by and help me out. If I don't make any progress by tomorrow around lunch, I'm going to see about towing it or renting a trailer to get it home. Thanks Andrew (Silver 93 Rx7), New Engine(4 weeks old), all stock but has an exhaust |

I have a car with a leaky omp line right on one of the primary injectors that would cause this same issue. Had to clean the connetors really well and install a new omp line and the problem went away. Before I fixed it it would blow the fuse once or twice a day. You may just get a fire extinguisher and a bunch of fuses and you can probably make it home.

lol Rotary care package. I just got back from Auto zone, moved the wiring harness around. put the new fuse in, and it started up. Drove it around the parking lot seems to run for now. I'm going to get a fire extinguisher now, and a few more fuses. I'm going to head towards rx7store.

Lots of things (wires) can cause that one to blow. I had my alternator wires close to the connector crack and begin to touch each other immediately blowing that fuse. Took a while to track it down. Good luck and have a safe trip. G

I was thinking the same thing, since it didn't happen again all the way home. I don't know how to repeat the problem. Guess I'll just start tracing the harness see if I can find anything there. Also, I'm replacing the fuel pump (had a new one in the box) waiting for when I got back.

Glad you made it home jinx!
In the future keep in mind that I live right near windsor and have a buttload of parts. If you're ever broke down in my area feel free to call.
