Default WTB TPS - Nashville area

Anyone remotely close to Nashville have a TPS? I think mine might be shot. My car idles at 1200-1500 RPM and when I test the TPS with an ohm meter sometimes it seems to be ok but other times the results are all over the place. I can reach in and push the plunger on the TPS all the way down and the idle will drop to normal until I give it gas again. I will come and pick it up and pay cash if you have a good one.

Can you drive it to DGRR? I probably have an extra one around the house but that's about 3 hours from you.

jfaplanet is going to bring one too. Just to make sure.

Unless you can get to his house before Thursday morning that is.

I found at least 3, possibly 5. I'm not sure why I have this many TPS, but hopefully one will work if yours doesn't get straightened out.

Did you ever fix your problem? I have some extras. I'm that guy that towed the sport out of your drive way a while back BTW.

He's good to go. I hooked him up with a new TPS (not sure if it was needed) and he adjusted his idle screw on the UIM. Now purring at ~750.

It started idling high again on the way home from DGRR... Appears to be BAC related. Either way I'm relatively certain that the TPS is not a problem. Thanks though

I remember your forum name . I know you had gotten that car running but how did the Title ever work out?

Well sadly... I could never get it titled and to make things worse when I took it out for a spin I discovered it had a blown rear rotor. It started, drove and idled great in the yard and driveway, but had 0 power and struggled to reach 60 MPH on my test drive. It had to be used for parts, but it went to a good cause. My old worn out interior in my GXL was replaced with the interior out of the sport. It cleaned up very nicely I was able to salvage the sport aero package and put it on the GXL. I swapped the manual windows onto the GXL. I then used a few parts off of it to rebuild an old 88 T2 with a title. I then traded the 88 T2 for my 79 SA. i have no plans of ever getting rid of the 79 SA. Shes a beaut!

The sport is sitting at my parents house as a rolling chasis. I'm using it to hold parts. I was bummed I couldn't get it titled... but at least it wasn't crushed or wasted. I may build it for a track only car someday... I have a spare motor sitting in the garage.

Jason (RoughRex),

How are you and the wife? Long time no speak. How are the kids?
Man, we have the two girls and just adopted a 2 year old boy. SO now with a 1 year old, 2 year old, and 6 year old the house is freaking crazy!

haha, and a week goes by before I reply...

We're doing fine! The wife has gotten a promotion at work and and our son slept through the night for the first time this weekend We are currently trying to do some work on our house to get it ready for sale. Looking to move out near your area since we both work in Franklin. We've been considering adoption for some time as well. May I ask what country you adopted from? Are you going to be at the meet on Thursday?

What meet? Glad to hear the boy is doing good.
Hope the rest of the family is well.
Our adoption was a last min thing that came up out of no where. Its family and my sister got into some crap.
And ya, you need to come over near me so the girls can hang and we can talk rotary.
