March 2009 Ride Of The Month - Rotorybeat1287 (Winner of FC Month)!
March marche don with a landslide victory for a very, very deserving car and owner. The winner with the great professional-looking photography is Rotorybeat1287's super clean White S4 TII!
Year, model, mods, etc 1987 Mazda Rx-7 TurboII: -Racingbeat REVII turbo back exhaust -S5 turbo w/ ported waste gate -GReddy fmic kit -GReddy VII boost gauge -GReddy profec-B boost controller -Exedy Stage 1 clutch -Mazda Racing dual alt pulley -GReddy turbo timer -S5 tail lights -HKS SSQV bov -Rtek 1.5 ECU -Hawk HPS all around -BF Goodrich tires Questions to the owner: Q: Congratulations for winning Ride of the Month! Tell us about how you acquired this car? A: Well, I awoke one morning groggy in my PJ's around 8am to a private message from my friend Dregg100 that had the car's listing in it. I was like; "Damn that's a nice TII". Kept looking "54k original miles!?!?!", "North Carolina!?!?!" haha. I fell in love. With the help from some good friends we were on our way up to get my TII! Q: How did you first become interested in modified cars? Have you had any previously? A: Hmm, I'm not really sure. I fell in love with driving and exploring the mountains first. Then I got into cars. I then wanted a 2nd gen Rx-7 and fell in love w/ those. The lines of the body, interior, and the rotary engine. I just had to have one. I got my first car, a red 1991 NA Rx-7 that was an automatic and it just kind of went from there. Auto to 5-speed swap was the first thing that made it easy to keep getting more involved. Q: Whats the biggest reason you chose a rotary powered car to modify? A: I was and still am fascinated from the little magic spinning triangles. I like the people that they bring together, the way they perform and feel up in the turns of the mountains and I especially fell in love w/ them when I got my TurboII. Boosted rotary! OMG! Q: Is this car your daily driver? Do you participate in any form of racing? (Drag, Auto-X, etc) A: Yes this car is my Daily Driver. I drive the piss out of our local mountains and I do say that I have bumped off a couple of times on the freeway or where ever. It has gotten me in some trouble to say the least. lol. Q: What do you enjoy most about your car? A: Boost! haha. I don't know maybe the cleanliness of it when I spend all day shining her up. Maybe the working factory CD player and little things like when its running awesome in that "perfect" weather. Q: Do you have any future plans for the car, or any car? A: I really want to rebuild it myself and w/ help from my friends to get to know it a lot better. After a rebuild, then I want a bigger turbo and supporting mods. I would love to have around 350 or so WHP when everything is said and done. But suspension and some sexy wheels. Q: Any other hobbies besides cars? A: Photography is HUGE for me. It's my dream to do it as a profession but its hard to get your foot in the right door it seems. I'm obsessed w/ taking pictures of cars mostly but scenery and various things. Guns, I am also obsessed with. I love them and I am a redneck according to friends. And now I guess I can add Scuba Diving! haha. Q: Anyone you'd like to thank? A: Yes! Minda and Lisa Vandy's! Masin Decker and friends who have helped me out w/ teaching me shit about my car and lending a hand. Umm, Randy up in NC for letting his baby go to me and holding it for us for so long when it was in high interest! Additional Pictures? A: Uh yeah of course! I'm rotarybeat1287! haha. original paint...this was a week after I got it. It was garage kept its entire life. But it doesn't look like this now unfortunately. *tear! haha

I love FCs--they remind me of Porsche 944s... another car I love. I think this is a great build and great work on the car!
