hey guy just finished my 5 speed swap on my 90 rx7 vert. and it idles up and down for about 10 min when you first start it and then idles fine. what could cause this? also i have a problem when i have my lights on at night and either turn the heat on or have the brakes pressed at idle the car almost kills out and agin it starts idleing between about 250-900. Someone please help cause the gap is coming up soon. Thanks Tony

its most likely a vacuum leak. lump idles usually are, but not always. also, when you press your brakes, it takes vacuum to the brake booster. so with already having a vacuum leak, the braking is making it worse.
most likely when you were swapping the tranny, you knocked something loose. dont forget about grounding the tranny also. missing grounds have caused a lot of problems. even when you think you dont need the ground. keep it.

Honestly sounds like the BAC....especially considering that the car almost dies with more alternator load on it. It might be unrealted to the tranny swap, or maybe the wiring was bumped orsomething.

Check your TPS and set it accordingly. Also try to bump up your idle a little bit, it might be set too low and the BAC is just trying to keep you from stalling out. Beyond that you can check for vac leaks and other misc. problems.
