DGRR here i come!!!
This will be my first DGRR event and man I am PUMPED up and getting ready.
Even though I will be attending the event without my FD i think it should be a blast of a time!!! I will be Shooting the entire event from start to finish in Still and video with the help of Phil, Who has offered to put me up for the duration of the event. A couple of questions comes to mind, i hope you local guys can help and answer them for me. How far is the event location from the Birmingham airport??? What kinda weather can I expect??? Are there mosquito issues this time of the year??? How cold does it get at night??? Any good Korean restaurants close by???? In any case, i hope to meet lots of new people and have a blast taking pictures of this years DGRR event!!!!!!!!! YEAHHHH see you all there. Michael

OK ... 4 hours or so from Birmingham ... Cool nights (50's) , beautiful temps in the day (70's)-(like last year hopefully) ... NO mosquitos that time of year ... NO Korean restaurants anywhere near Nantahala Village or Deals' Gap , but if you're willing to drive an hour each way , I believe there is a bigger City close by ??

Michael, if you ask nicely and I have my rotary FD running, I'll let you borrow it for a pass or two on the Dragon.

COOL!!!
It would be good to see you again.. And I'll be heading to SD quite often as my brother now lives there. You could use my D90 and various camera mounts and mini-DV cameras I have. I think I have 4 external/interior suction car mounts and 3 mini-DV cameras (and ton of tape). I'll also bring my macbook pro and 1TG firewire 800 external HD So, I could get a copy of what you take Can't wait!!!! This year is going to be a blast!!! And David, I would like to get a ride in your 20B FD

FDSeoul- When I read the first part about you going to DGRR I thought "he's gonna drive all the way there?!!) LOL I'm thinking about making the trip from CO just to joust with the dragon again. You'll have a GREAT time, even if you're not driving your FD.

Also, you're not going to find any good Korean restaurants anywhere near DGRR on the TN side.

Asheville airport is closer, but it will cost a little more to fly into there. I typically fly out of Charlotte (2 hours from Asheville) and save $100+. (yeah, i can be a cheap a$$!)
As I told you, if you fly into Charlotte (or Asheville), let me know and I can pick you up. (If Charlotte, hopefully you can land before 1 pm on Friday...) and speedjunkie, there is a guy driving in from San Francisco, CA...
