Default Pearly White FD on Evil Forum

I don't know if we are supposed to link over there, but this seems somewhat important. If you haven't seen it, it seems that a guy in California owns the pearly white FD and is planning on selling or LS-swapping it. Sorry if I'm a newb to 3rd gens, but if this is for real it seems interesting.

Yeah, he has posted it in the for sale section on 7club. He wants 20,000$ for it. If I had that much dough saved up I would....just to save it from the ls swap. I mean come on man, I'm all for what you want to do to your own car and everything, but this is 1 of 1! You don't do that to cars like that!

What is the latest estimate on cost of a LS swap - DYI?

damn....never heard of a pearl white FD from the factory....I've seen the plain white though.

20K for a clean, low mileage FD seems reasonable to me....Most people just freak out about the rotary.....i hope that someone saves that car from an LS motor.

I love the "cheap-asses" jab the OP threw in there!!

Kind of like catching a unicorn; sawing off its horn and using it to plow fields. So sad.

It's a off-white '94 FD.

If you guys had a one-of-one '94 FD with a matt black engine bay, would you be so passionate about the thing???

well, if it's STOCK pearl white then I'd be trippin' like I am....if it was a repaint then it'd just be another white FD and I wouldn't think it's so cool.

Pearl white looks hot on everything, I got honda's s2000 grand prix white for my car.

I'm a sucker for white and green cars.

That's interesting. I always heard that the only pearl white FD in the states was either owned by Mazda USA or one of their top level executives. I guess not.

By all accounts, it is the only Pearly White USDM FD.

But so what??

It's only a small variation of a white paint colour, it's not like it's a uber-desirable engine/gearbox combo, or a spec'd up limited edition equipment pack.

Like I said in the locked thread over there, it ain't no Hemi 'Cuda.

It'll never be worth anything. Curiosity value only.

We don't have all those model year choices that you guys down under have
93-95 is as far as we get legally . This is more rarer that a CYM, and there's 300-350 of them. An those CYMs still fetch a better value than most FDs that go to the for sale sections.

This car in no way compares to a Hemi 'Cuda or even a Charger Daytona. Outside of the rotary community it's noting special....but it IS special to us. Like I said before, if I have enough funds for the car I would save it from the LS swap. If he still has it in 4 months when I get back stateside maybe we can work a deal.

^I agree. It's worth what the buyer deems it to be worth. If it's too much then of course no one will buy it, so no worries...

btw, why is the title on this thread the EVIL FORUM? obviously you read whats on there so lets just be civil and call it rx7club like its named.

Hey, INSIDE the rotary community it's nothing special, that's my point!!

I just don't get the hype.
