Wrecked, have a few questions.
I have an 86 Base model that was wrecked, it needs a hood bumper core support and bumper support. Some 77 year old woman driving at 10:30 at night turning onto the wrong street, turned into the left lane instead of the right and hit me, while i was stopped, in her buick.
Her insurance company is of course paying for damages, but im thinking it may be totalled, nada value is 3k but i dont know what they use. Do you all think it will be totalled?

Mostly depends on the frame. Yes you can get all those parts from other others, and if you have the time and tools not that hard to do. If the frame is bent get rid of it. Also if they try to total it dont expect NADA, maybe 500 to 1000 less. And if you keep the title and take the money it will a salvage title and you might get 1500. Best case is they fix it and you get a new paint job!

Total the car and take the check and tell them THANK YOU.
A chassis will never be the same after an accident. FC chassis are plentiful that's it's cheaper to find a clean shell to begin with if you want to start over with. -Ted |

I can understand the wheels part for aesthetics, but the stock 1 pistons are more than enough for anyone who doesn't heavily track their car and especially if you're running street tires.

Frame rails are all straight. I'd like to keep the car personally but i guess it depends what happens when the body shop calls me tommorow.

Lol, its easy to swap the wheels and brakes. At least its a 4 x 114.3 and not 4 x 110 like the FB.
The only thing about my car that I would change is the sunroof (I have an SE). Other than that, its as light as it comes... and even lighter now. Back on topic, hope it works out that you can keep the car and just get the damage fixed. Its hard to let go a car if you've had it a long while. |

spend a hundred bucks and get it appraised.....if it was in great/clean shape then you can get a little more....I did.....
Then go with RETed's advice. 3K gets you a nicer NA or even a running TII (If you're lucky.)
