Sept 21st Autocross results!
I went to the PCA AutoX yesterday and met Josh there as usual (candy-cane LS1 FC RX-7). It was supposed to be our (non-Porsche) turn to go second, but with the "track" being wet all the Porsche guys whined that we should dry it up for them. After some commotion, a coin was flipped, and non-Porsche's lost, so we got the wet/damp track and they got the damp/dry track. Even with that disadvantage we made a good showing!
Josh got 3rd in class (Podium!!!) with a 41.898, just behind an MR-S on slicks (SP classed, modded out, nice car) and the perennial pain in everybody's butt, the huge turbo'd Miata (SM2 car with full mods on slicks, HOT car and very fast driver). Josh's time was also good for 9th Overall (out of 58 drivers) but that sounds worse then reality, as he was only beat by 5 cars (the aforementioned MR-S and Miata, plus an E-Mod 914 race car, a 944 Turbo race car, and a new freaking GT3! All of the Porsche's were trailered). I didn't do too shabby either with the 231000 mile all-original 12A FB. I got 10th in class (out of 22) and 41st Overall (out of 58 drivers). Got a little recap below. 10 83 Michael Pinto 1984 Mazda RX-7 44.909 11 235 Brandon Cossette 1992 Honda Civic 45.571 Turbo'd 12 510 Mike Braaten 1970 Datsun Roadster 45.937 SR20DE swap 13 200 Bryan Brock 2002 BMW M3 45.988 14 49 Bruce Allert 1997 Mazda Miata 46.057 slicks 15 240 Chris Ruge 1990 Nissian 240SX 47.127 KDW II's 16 324 Steve Voigt 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT 47.318 Twin-Turbo 17 523 Kathy Averitt 1992 Honda CRX 47.376 18 610 Xuan Cadavona 1993 Nissan 240sx 48.220 SR20DET 19 511 Nemesio Flores 1995 Mitsu Eclispe 48.461 20 190 Bryan Tisa 2008 Subaru WRX 48.480 21 50 Kimberly Beck 2006 Mazda Miata 48.747 22 712 Alex Tores 1995 Ford Mustang 55.176 42 P3 109 Ryan Sauer 1979 Porsche 911SC 45.203 43 I1 152 Richard Averitt 1971 Porsche 914 45.366 44 S2 121 Peggy Munson 2002 Porsche 911 C4 Cab. 45.451 46 P3 84 Alan Wizeman 1984 Porsche 911 45.677 50 P5 1140 Shauna Beatty 2002 Porsche Boxster 46.665 So all in all, not bad for the little 7. We've got one more SCCA Auto-X (in Packwood) and one more PCA one (at PIR), then the season's over. I picked up a RB header, so it might be nice to actually have a single mod on the car! Remember, I still have EVERYTHING (air pump, A/C, smog/emissions equipment, rat's nest, mechanical fan, etc, etc) stock!

Well, looks like if I go drag racing, it will be Saturday only.
And your tires aren't anywhere sticky enough to make the diff go boom. For Packwood, I'm driving up Friday night and staying all weekend.
