it all depends on what your goals are/what the car will be used for/what budget you are working with. for ECU, full standalone will get you limitless posibilities, but its expen$ive for dyno time. Rtek is a good option as a pseudo-stand alone. not as tunable as a standalone but at half the price, with bolt in installation, and the stock map still present, it makes an attractive option. I think I read somewhere that the power possibilities are anywhere between 300-375 depending on supporting mods.

Injectors are all about power goals as well, not much to talk about here, just make sure you have the *actual flow for your use. sometimes the advertised flow rates aren't actual flow rates. Be careful.

as far as turbos, hmmmm what is affordable? no matter what aftermarket turbo you chose, you are looking at a new manifold to match as well as custom downpipe, even external wastegate depending on the turbo. another option is a hybrid such as found on www.bnrturbos.com. once again install is bolt in and power is in the 300-400 range depending on stage. with the hybrid there is no cusom DP, no new manifold, so it is more cost effective and way easier to install.

one question... why the S4 parts on the S5 keg?

This should help you with your injector sizing. http://rx7.com/cgi-local/2ndgencalc.cgi

As far as turbos, look into BNRTurbos.com or his vendor page on here. He modifies stock turbos into everything from mild to wild while using the stock manifold...My buddy on his mild Stage 1 on a Streetport S4 layed down over 300whp on 11psi. Stage 4s will lay down over 400hp.

1. BUdget
2. Goals
3. Parts list

hook it up with 1 and 2 and 3 will be easy.

Check out KGParts' injector info also:
http://injector-rehab.com/issg/index.htm

As far as ICs, you can piece your own like I did but it's a PITA. I did it and I know I'm going to have to replace it eventually. Had I spent the $$ on an FC specific kit I'd be done with it now. Just letting you know.

I'm trying to get my BNR turbo swap going so I can't tell anything yet but a lot of members are having great success with all stages (even though they seem to all hit 300 hp).

I have a working parts list for a turbo-6port I'll be working on. I'll convert some it over to pdf and load it up for you come tonight.

Default Working Parts List...

Hey sorry about the delay, I actually ended up falling asleep at around 7 and I might add, it's the best time ever to fall asleep.

I've converted alot of the file over to .pdf, so you can get the full benefit. I'm having to re-visit my plans for what ECU i plan on running for the moment, but that just means instead of going full standalone I just went with an RTek (And a monster turbo... granted, you won't find it for the price I'm getting mine at )

But check out the attached.
I'll finish the workbook on the next post. Also of note, you'll see I have alot of extra stuff that I don't really need right now (like the 4 ls1 coils) I haven't gone through it yet to see what I actually will have to buy for the RTek. I may be able to leave a majority of the engine bay alone for this mod.

Default Working Parts List #2...

It would be amazingly easier for me if we were allowed to upload office documents, or bigger pdf files ... oh well. (I'm a lazy sack that doesn't want to zip things ).

Hope that helps you on your way. I've done alot of thinking and that's what I've come up with so far. Once I get this up and running I will have a very nice car, but I will need to save for body work and a standalone.... One Day Soon....

something i'm toying around with about getting. Not really necessary for the project, but it might blur the line between piggy-backs, rtek, and standalone in that it allows for removal of the AFM to use MAF, and can even get a speed density based one (however for that price, plus the price of an Rtek, i'd just as soon get a standalone). For $400, might as well just get a Megasquirt.

actually if you look at the gen2 which is universal it's only about 260, still, not sure I'd want to even bother picking it up... Just something to toy around with.

FYI, from what I have read, and I think with backup by RETed, that MAF gadget is useless for our cars. Something about the way our ECU's deal with the MAF signal.

Also, the MAF is a restriction on the intake if you are trying to make some good HP. And you can spend $400 elsewhere that will net you horsepower even with the stock MAF.

EDIT: even if it is $260, I can think of better ways to make power
