Default Weekend Driver

Hey guys, glad to be a part of this "sell out free" enviroment. Anyways, I have only been driving my RX7 about one or two days a week. I drive about 20-30 miles, About 10 miles of interstate driving, and the rest stop and go.
My question... Is there anything that I should be doing ,or not doing now that the mileage driven has been so greatly reduced?

I know most rotary specific methods of keeping carbon deposits at bay, but all the rotary cars I've had were most happy when they were driven daily. Any input would be fantastic.

I do not even drive mine that much!! But anyway, as long as when you drive it, you let it get up to normal operating temps, and give it at least one good redline, you should be in good shape.

I am always sure to at least get it up to temp anytime I start it or move it. Flooding is not a good thing. And the redline blows all the carbon and gunk out.

I am actually jealous you drive yours that much. I need to get my tires on and hit the road again!!!

Nope, Phil told me he was starting this site about a month ago. When it first went live, I joined immediately. Although, I have had several transactions with Kevin, including a complete rebuilt TII swap.

And I'm in Chattanooga an awful lot, that is where the in-laws live.

How many of those miles are hauling V8's in a trailer though?

I always tell people to redline at least once a day. Oil changes often, check fluids, and stay on top of all maintenance. Nothing really special is necessary of you don't drive it often. At least nothing I know of.

lol pwnt, 10k in ten months, and that's with at least 6 weeks of literal down time where I didn't drive her at all, hahaha. I can't keep my hands off her (she's my dd, too, but my beloved dd).

I've driven mine...ah...0 miles in the 2 months I've had it. Unless you count steering while someone else pushes it, In that case, probably about 1/8 mile.

--- 1k miles in 1 1/2 years. I let it warm up for 5 minutes before driving, checking tire air pressure while waiting. Check coolant level and oil as well. I don't do the redline thing, I don't see how that could help the car.

Yay! My car runs fine now!! Now I just need to put the interior back in (really just the driver's seat) and I'll be able to take it for a ride. I did stall it on purpose in my garage today to make sure the clutch was good , all the tools I had carefully placed all over the car are all over the floor now .
