What is yours reading? IIRC 13 PSI at idle is rebuild time for pre-'86 engines. I don't remember what stock WOT oil pressure is supposed to be, like 75 PSI or something?
There's always air in the line. It's not a problem. Even if you get absolutely all the bubbles out when you install it, they will come back the next time you do a cold start.

its not reading any thing, think my gauge is messed up i guess. i asked my brother what the deal is and he was like the air compresses so the gauge wount work. didnt make sense to me because it still should show the pressure on the gauge. o yeah when i kill the car should some of the oil drain out of the line? or do i have huge problems.

Pressure is pressure, whether it's pressure from compressed air or oil doesn't really matter. Yes, the oil will drain out of the line and you will get air bubbles. Sounds like your gauge might have a problem. Is the stock one still hooked up? Does it read anything?

i have a sa it doesn't have a stock oil pressure gauge in the dash. iam kinda pissed about this. i had a stock 80 cluster. the only thing that didn't work was the temp. i put in a 1979 so it read over 85 mph now 130 ish. the stock temp sending unit in my car is busted. the car came with a sunpro electric water temp gauge, the kid had it wired in so badly the needle just bounced around the whole time and it wasn't bolted in. he had it taped to the cluster.
i moded the area under the heater controls for a 1 din radio and 3 gauges. had to cut a sheet of metal to be bolted in there. i install the gauges and had to re wire a stereo and found out all speakers are junk(never had a radio when i got it). i went out and bot 2 boxes for 2 6x9's get the radio working, then the deck craps out. i get my oil pedestal and find out the gauge for pressure is junk. at least the oil and water temp gauge works. so now iam gonna have to wait and buy a new gauge. its going to be a bitch to remove the broken one |
