Hello, I was turned on to the Rx7 by an ex-girlfriend. She wanted me to buy one for her, but I liked it so much that I kept it for myself. I have a 1988 white convertible. I love the car, but have had several issues with it. I had a 16 year old pull in front of me. Had to get most of the front body parts replaced. What I found was that it is vey hard to get parts for these cars. It died once and would not start. I had to get it towed to a Mazda dealership. They kept it for 2 weeks trying to figure out what the problem was. It was a faulty airflow sensor. They had to get the part sent from California. The first one was faulty so they towed it back in (free) and installed a new one (free). Can anyone refer me to a GOOD mechanic to work on these G2 Mazda RX7's in Central Arkansas.

Is that why she's an ex, because you kept the car? lol You made the right choice.

You may be able to find a mechanic, but your best bet (and what most owners/enthusiasts do) is work on their own car. Not many average mechanics know much (if anything) about these cars. Here is a link to all the manuals for pretty much every rotary car Mazda produced, including some random things. There is a wealth of information here. See if you can find a fellow owner nearby if you have to. You'll save money and you'll learn a lot. Also, next time the car breaks down you won't have to depend on anyone else.

Beat you to it, Chibi. lol
