Simply amazed
So i finally got my full exhaust installed and come to find out it is porbably the best thing i could have done. i never thought that exhaust would have made such a differnce. whent with racing beat headers down to 2 and 3/4 inch stainless with high flow cat and custom build muffler. i am insanely impressed with the difference it has made in power and gas milage

When you have the bucks move up to the RB SP setup which is dual pipes to the rear
into a single RB muffler. I had a similiar system to yours before that and it was a real eye opener when I made the change. At any rate, a header with a good flowing exhaust makes big improvement. Why do the cat? Legal issue in your state?

the only reason for the cat is that i will soon be getting out of the military and am not 100% sure where i am headed pretty sure it will be back to florida but the wife has mentioned cali a few times so im not sure what it will be but as soon as i figure it out it will come off of there!!!

You're already hosed if you go to Cali. I'd love to be in FL with no inspections at all.

Yeah man florida is the way to go. If you can send me a link for that dual set up or is it a custom build???? I have a pipe bended and mig and tig welding machines so building custom headers is nothing new two me. Would just like to see some plans to go by!!!!

Ide also love to see this dual pipe setup. Ive had people telling me about it and I already have the header from the guy I got the car from. I just cant see how the dual exhast gets around the gas tank.

ro i am running teu duels right no yesterday i got a wild hair up my ass and chopped my header where the two pipes come together making to seperat down tubes and then welded extentions on and then the flanges and ran my pipe from there. But heres the catch...... My car sounds like a weed eater so gonna go back to where i was with a new crome header.... But every thing i hear is abot two true duels into one muffler and then out i cant find this muffler any where

Well what i am seeing with others is that they are splitting the headers and the running 2 pipes all the way to a single muffler but im not understanding it. When i split mine it was the worst noise ever lol i got my newest header in today and whent back to a single 3 inch all the way out of course with high flow cat and muffler. It is the same results power and gas wise but im going to look more into it i will keep u updated

To answer you question though yes. If im not mistaking the first gens came factoy with a 1 in W out or duel tip. But as i found out that bad boy gets clogged it is hell on the engine same thing with the cat if you have high miles i would be willing to bet that the cat is done for. Once they clogg up on you you start building far too much back pressure. The goal is to reduce the back pressure as muchas possible. And i mean it when i say it ....... It makes a hell of a difference

Well thing ive noticed is the cats already been hallowed out on this car I can tell by the sound of it haha luxrys of living in florida! \^_^/ but I dont really have a model of a car to look under the hood to see how someones done theirs... and after droppn the gas tank on this car theres absolutly no room to run twin pipes out the rear of this car. So ive been askn people I know even and one guys told me virtually what you said but he said doing the 3' piping is virtually the same deal.. he said thats what he had on his 84.

Yeag there really isnt any room i bent and ran everything side bu side so ultimatly they came out in the same place as the factory exhaust....... It was certainly worth a try but not what i was looking for..... Once you get her up amd running good you can start making small investments in stuffl like exhaust amd headers and so forth........ I am an american muscle guy by heart but have had a blast with my little car she is a blast to drive and not horribly expensive to play with. But too back to exhaust there are some awsome kits out there that will do the samething i have done with 4 times less work

Honestly it took 10 minutes lol but the hoses for mine where already closed up the pump itsself has 2 bolts one on top and one underneith then theres the pipe it connects to some sorta turbine type system but I took it out to lol. Ordered my exhaust manifold gasket last night off racing beat found it insane that gasket costed $33 after shipping and handling...
