Well, all you guys were right all along. (SMH)
So, this is a picture of my rear bumper, I parked my car for winter in a garage. I started it infrequently to let it run to operating temperature, without revving unaware completely that there was this wooden filing cabinet a little too close to my car. I have now effectively ruined the bumper, light, and wind diffuser. I am an idiot. Please feel free to make fun of me and tell me what an idiot I am... You guys always told me so. You were right. Please be careful with your RX-7's my friends, Otherwise shit like this will happen.

I have burned my bumper too. That one looks much better then mine did afterwards.
I will show my shame... This is after some touch up paint there is a hole straight through the bumper

Well that fucking sucks.
Like Cheebz said, you're not the only one who's had it happen.. I looked but I wasn't able to find any pictures of my bumper from when it got cooked in England. My tune was so rich that I'd regularly spit prolonged flames on shifts and decels. I cooked the paint clean off my bumper just above the exhaust. Ideally you could just fix that light housing, then get a carbon fiber exhaust guard. Here's a pic where you can kinda see the one that I bought to put on my car after burning it's bumper. *edit* But you're still an idiot... lol

To be fair (and I'm not defending the OP by any means) I will run my car in my garage as well. But... every time I do I have the garage door at least half way open, and prefer to have a second door to the outside open as well or air circulation.

Roger that, and I bet you don't do it with the exhaust end of the car facing an interior wall either. I do the same, but the exhaust faces an open garage door and blows outside. This knucklehead had his exhaust pipe blowing into a wood cabinet, which appears to be positioned against an interior wall.

I'm glad that I can still drive and stuff,
and that this is only cosmetic... If I was going to re-paint my car, it would NOT be Silver again. The three colors I have been thinking about painting my FD are: BMW Java Green (4/6 apex seals) Mazda 2 Green (5/6 apex seals) or (my favorite) Chevrolet Synergy green (6/6 apex seals) Does anyone have any other wicked cool green paint ideas? or how about any other awesome colors?

BOILED PEANUTS!!!

OF course Chris comes in with a ACR color
Forget green, go for Rx8 white water pearl And I am part of the burnt bumper crew as well. I had to cut off the lower half of mine to make it work, it was melted so badly. You can see what it looks like here. You will have to use google if you want to see what the 8 rear normally looks like
