Rx8 prospect

Hello all. So I found an 2004 8 that I'm thinking of trying to pick up. I remember a while back reading that they had a few issues here and there (ie coil packs going out). Are there any other common issues with that particular model year that I should be aware of and address ASAP if I was to get ahold of it? Thanks for the advice in advance.

Motor has an 8yr extended warranty that likely is over...read up on the engine quirks and make sure you get it cheap enough if the motor isn't in good shape. Personally I would pay for a compression test to give you some piece of mind unless it is a DIY project

The coils are most common failure, but the 04 starter is weak and the sun visors arent great either.... upgrade both to 06 or newer and you will be set...

If you buy a new Starter, it can actually be off a 2009 or newer. the S2 starters are even better and its a direct fit

JL1RX7 will become famous soon enough
Make sure its got all the TSB's and ECM flashes up to date. Highly doubtful the 8 year/100k engine warranty is still left. But its worth a look and a compression check.

Well they sold it before I could get there for the test drive... Sad day. I looked around in the web to see l if there were more in the area but there don't seem to be many around Eglin... Oh well...
