85turbo12a is on a distinguished road
Default greetings

hello everyone my name is mark and its been 2 days since i last drove my rx7

after 8 years of endless tinkering and cleaning out all the spare change in the house i managed to assemble a fuel injected, turbocharged 12a powered FB that combined with the use of my right foot has been very successfull at consuming most of the premium gasoline in central florida, i then decided to join forces at DGRR 2011 to team up with fellow rotary owners on the gas stations of north carolina and deplete the areas fuel supply, while at the same time enjoying the not as straight as florida roads.

i do apologize for the lack of a picture album in advance, my main machine containing my albums is on the blink atm, perhaps my rx7club.com profile will be sufficient for now http://www.rx7club.com/member.php?u=135202

let us pray
please grant me the serenity
to accept the seals that will not seal
the courage to add another pound of boost
and the wisdom to know who is available to tow me home at this hour

amen

Welcome to the club! It sounds like you have some fabricating and modifying skills. Obviously some knowledge to share too.

I met you at DGRR!

This is a very nice car, and the tech was beautiful. I wish he could duplicate the intake manifold and turbo set up, I would totally rock this instead of the few options for boosting a 12a that are out there.

hey thanks alot, the manifold is very easy to make, but i would have to say i would do it over with a "log" right after the throttle body, so much of that stuff was done early on when i had VERY little time or money, but i could always add one to it now, and i just might....
intake is a 12a IDA lightly ported and with the addition of 2 injector bosses inboard(pain in the butt) and the upper was fabbed steel using scrap plate for the flanges and (1) 1.5" U bend cut in half and grafted together into the flange, the throttle body is a nissan unit of unknown origin, possibly a KA24 or sr20?, it was free from a friend when i needed one.
exhaust is a racing beat bare flange that my friend gave me, fabbed with 2 inch scheduel 40 weld "Ls" from local metal supplier for cheap with a t4 flange and 1.5" weld L wastegate outlet.
wastegate is a 50mm HKS style cheapie, works fine IMO

turbo is a turbonetics 60-1, but soon to go to a t76, not that its slow...its just..i like big turbos
just remember..being different is cool...but alot of work lol
