Looking for new oil line and water injection line
I wasn't sure where to put this so here it is.
I'm looking for new oil line for the oil coolers, more flexible and lightweight stuff, thinking about some of this... http://www.pegasusautoracing.com/pro...p?Product=3490 It's expensive but seems pretty good. I'm also looking for more durable line for my water injection, probably stainless steel braided since I'm going to run it under the car. The only problem is because of the fittings the system uses (I have an FJO kit) I don't know what line or fittings to get. Any suggestions on any of this? Hit up Goodridge, those guys are awesome. You could call up FJO and get the specs on the fittings, size type etc, take those to Goodridge and tell them what you need. THEN you'll need to take the part numbers that they give you and call up Tom Sandal @ Carolina racing supply. Tom is a distributor for Goodridge and is there apparently everyday picking up custom lines to ship out. Pegasus is also a distributor for Goodridge IIRC. So you'll be buying Goodridge lines through Carolina Racing Supply and getting them custom fit to your application

This will completely replace all OEM Oil lines with SS line & AN fittings using the dual OEM oil coolers. No fitment issues with A/C. Be sure to cover the SS lines with plastic loom at possible rub points.

They have some AN to metric adapters but not the right size, and they don't have a good selection of banjo fittings. I would also get the braided hose from Summit, its cheaper there too, especially the Braided Nylon Hose. |

No worries Eric, hardline is definately a second option. Summit sells SS hardline in coils and they have the appropriate ends for the hardline as well. Straightening it can be a bitch though. I've found that using 2 sheets of plywood and rolling the line between them goes a LONG way. I often thought of building a tubing straightener, but Jegs beat me too it, damn thing is like $200 and not worth it for the amount of harline I use, but damn is it a nice piece.
Collin (RX se7en) got the complete badass list though, everything you could need.

You're posting on your phone again aren't you? Either that or post-whoring LOL.
Yeah I'm definitely not paying $200 for a line straightener. I may just go with ss braided since hard line is such a hassle, but it would be so awesome to use hard line. I guess I'll just get ahold of Goodridge. Isn't Collin's list for the stock oil coolers though? A great list and great information no doubt, just not what I'm looking for at the moment. |

Yeah my list was just for stock dual coolers. You'll probably still need everything except you'd swap out the 4 22mmx1.5 -10 adapters for whatever size your oil coolers need.
For your water injection, you'll need -4 hose if you are going braided (I like the black nylon braided hose myself, especially if your running it next to the hard brake lines, normal stainless could rub through them unless its rapped well). Where it actually attaches to the nozzle's may be a little tricky. My nozzles were made by snow performance and had really long internal filters/atomizers, so the fitting needed to be super long in order to go over the filter and get to the threads of the nozzle itself. They came with the quick connect plastic tubing connectors, but I run straight methanol and found them leaking on multiple occasions (not good on top of the engine haha). So i switched over to braided nylon hose and AN fittings. If you have normal nozzles, you'll probably just need a standard 1/4npt to -4AN adapter for each nozzle. For attaching to the pump, you'll need to get the pump inlet and outlet down to -4AN to connect to the -4 hose. If you are using the common shurflo pump (almost all kits use it), the inlet and outlet ports are both female 3/8" NPT, so you just need an adapter that is male 3/8" NPT to male -4AN. Ok cool, I'm going to check into this more and post back up. I think I'll take some pics tomorrow of the fittings, they are reverse flare (I think that's what they're called) and post them here so maybe you can tell me what I need for sure haha.
I was planning on running the line next to the fuel lines, but maybe I'll look for somewhere else now haha. I don't like the thought of it rubbing through the lines, and I don't really want to run any kind of soft line down there for fear of it getting torn or ripped off by something going under the car. Maybe I'll either try to run it at the top of the tranny tunnel or I'll run it next to the fuel lines and just wrap it with wire loom or something. Where did you get your braided nylon hose? I don't want mine leaking on the engine either haha. I believe I do have the Shurflo pump too, I know it's the common pump used so I believe it's the same. The outlet side of the pump already has a small fitting on it, but the inlet is larger, maybe I'll just leave the inlet side alone with the plastic tubing, but I'd rather swap it all out at once. I wouldn't have trouble finding a flared adapter fitting for 3/8 to -4, but the problem is I have an inline filter, pressure sensor and the injector that would require compatible connectors since I can't swap out the fittings on them, know what I mean? |

Yeah, you're right, posting from the phone again
Inverted flare is what is commonly used on brakelines and such, AN lines are similar and are what is comonnly used in aftermkt fuel setups.... post up some pics or go to goodridges website... ome of their older catalogs that I have, that should be on their website had a fitting identification guide which should prove useful. You can DL or just opedn thir pdf catalog last time I checked.
