Default Electric components

I'm looking for a location that sells a few electrical components. Namely a 3-way momentary switch (Mom On-Off-Mom On) and cannon plugs. Preferably for a low profile rocker type switch.

So far I've checked waytekwire and a few other random locations google has returned to me.

The reason for the rocker switches is I'm planning on building my own window switches (modular replacement design to keep myself from having to purchase an entire new unit if one switch goes bad).

Cannon plug is for my ecu. I've noticed that there is a 22-socket weather pack available, though I'm thinking I would like something a little more robust than plastic where I plan on mounting the connector.

If anyone has any leads please post up about them. Thanks.

You can try Digikey or Mouser.

Thanks!

They have exactly what I want (even if Mouser is expensive when it comes to cannon plugs)!

Check out Spal, that's where I got my set. Great little products.

The only three that you really need to know are
Waytekwire.com
Terminalsupplyco.com
DelCity.net

After that there's WestMarine.com but they are PRICEY even after my wholesale acct it's cheaper 99% of the time to buy from one of the other three and pay the shipping. They're GREAT for heavy cable.

fuck that plastic shit, get the real Mil-Spec deal, you won't be dissapointed even if you do have to buy the DMC crimper. If you want, we might be able to work something out, BUT if you plan on ever doing it again, or think that some deutch connectors are in your future, it's better to just buy the damn thing one time and be done with it.

Hey TTT and everyone else concerned:

Go to http://www.connecticc.com/
instead of http://www.mouser.com/
for cannon/circular plugs.

I've done a few searches and found that connecticc is far cheaper than mouser (by as much as 2/3). I looked up some cannon plug manf. numbers on mouser and then plugged those numbers into connecticc and compared the difference in price.

For instance: MS27508E24B4SA
Returns: $268.84 for mouser
compared to: $49.37 for connecticc

Additionally; TTT, how do I pick the correct turret for the DMC, or do I need to buy individual pieces since I'm going to be using mil-spec? (positioner, crimp, etc)

What did I tell you T? You dare doubt The Great TitaniumTT?

Nice thing about ICC is their bodies come with the needed pins, don't know about mouser.

As far as DMC tool, call them direct and see if you can purchase through them. Call with the mil-spec number for the terminals you'll be using and they can sell you the tool with as a whole crimper/turrett assembly. That's how I bought mine.

You double postin' maniac!

Actually I'm going to have to purchase the tool second hand as I'm still a poor college student. ($50+turret>$389+turret)

I'm going to be taking a real hard look at the different plugs to see exactly what insert would best fit my needs. From there it's as simple as picking the plug/outlet that I want. Me thinks 24-55 might be up my alley, but we'll see when I look into it more.

Wow, did the price for the DMC crimper go up that much???
I swear it was more like $200 for the set - crimper tool and turret from Terminal Supply a few years ago.

I think the part number was something like DMC-200?

Else, if you want cheap, you can get those crimpers off eBay used for about $100 all day.
You'll need to order the turret though...

I like to live dangerously and eyeball the bitches without the turret.

They have a few different frame sizes..... The smaller ones that are limited to 20ga (I think?) are around a 200ish last I checked. The large frame with turret from what I understand has come down in price.

Either way, great to have.

T-that 24-55 is one of the bodies that I have.

That's the smaller frame crimper with the "non adjustable" turrett. On the one I have, the turrett has 3 pin sizes, something like 12, 16, 20, for the three diferent size pins. So you rotate the turrett to the size pin you have, then rotate the depth control to the size wire you have and viola, insta perfect crimp every time. Love it, want to use it more.

24-55 is the ga and pin count for the mil-spec firewall connectors not the crimper.
