Power steering rack leak
My suspension renovation was coming along just fine until today when I found out there was fluid inside the dust boot over my tie rod. I looked around and the boot seems fine; the car hasn't been known to leak oil either.
What is the culprit? I never had any steering issues when the car was on the road; is the rack compromised? This is a 91 T2 btw. |

The seal in the end of the rack is bad. I have never opened an RX7 rack but usually on most Japanese cars you have to disassemble the rack to change the seal. If your not handy just by a rebuilt rack and install it.
Fair warning: taking apart the rack is a messy job, also you should replace the bearings and all the seals if you go to the effort of opening the rack up.
