Throttle Sticking at low Engine Speeds?
So I've noticed lately the idle seems to stick around 1000-1500 RPM if I'm moving around slowly, at low engine speeds in parking lots and heavy traffic (on/off clutch, first gear kind of stuff). This does not seem to occur during regular driving when coming to a stop and depressing the clutch as the idle drops down to the correct 750 RPM. If it is stuck, blipping the throttle to approximately 2000 RPM in neutral and letting it come back down seems to cure the problem. I didn't notice this phenomenon last year or over the winter so it appears it may be a result of the warmer weather.
I assume this is probably just a dirty throttle body that needs to be pulled and cleaned? The engine is pretty much stock with thermowax, BAC, emissions equipment, etc. all still in place. |

I would say check the throttle cable for binding, that was my problem on my TII. Big difference though, I didn't have any emissions.
