Thinking of selling my fd.
In your guys opinion what is the best way to put a good market value on and fd. Of course i know that i can look up the value of the car per mileage and such, but what about mods? I have seen to much variation in the prices of modded cars with the same mods. If I do sell it i want to make sure that i have a good value so i don't lose out, but have a good price so that the car moves quickly.

That seems fine for a stock car. I'm going to have to do some reasearch and find some cars with similar mods to compare mine too.

ROI for mods is virtually nill. People seem more likely to buy a bone stock car and will pay a premium for a car that hasn't been molested. You never get out what you put in when you mod a car.

I think the problem with mods is that people are afraid of them being "Half-assed". If a shop or a reputable mechanic builds a car, using high quality parts, like you or kevin landers, a buyer would have much more confidence in purchasing a modified vehicle.

I was thinking about taking it back to stock, but i may just try to sell it modded first and see how that goes. Taking it back to stock will take some time to do.

Yeah, Kevin Landers had the same issue. He, VERY skillfully returned his car to factory stock, reinstalling any and all stock components he possibly could. That car is easily worth the 7,000 asking price...

I really wanted a bone stock car, but I was looking at cars that had some mods done well. I searched for posts by the user name to see if the mods were done right and if the person seemed to care about thier car.
for me I would pay more for a car that had all the basics done - dp, radiator, guages (depends on if the cut up the interior), etc, and may be a power fc tuned by a reputable person. Things I would not pay extra for - cat back exhaust and intakes for stock twins. These really seem to be owner dependent on if they like such and such exhaust or intake. I agree with the statment about raising the value if a reputable shop did the work. I would pay more for a car that was managed by a good shop.

I can understand about the value being a little more for a shop doing it. I installed everything myself. I don't preform half a$$ work either. I guess pics will do it justice when the time comes.

pictures might do it justice, but I know from experience that when selling an FD on a rotary or rx7 forum, the way you present yourself has a lot to do with the consideration you'll get. Maybe that's why I got zero interest when i posted it a few years ago- i was rude because I mistook an opinion for a flame.
thanks to those who offered up an opinion on this- we're in close to the same situation considering pricing and selling the FD. tough decision.
