New here but not to rotaries

i am Nate have had nothing but rotaries since i was 16 have owned all 3 Rx-7 generations and just bought a Rx-8 as a daily. I currently live in St. Louis MO. I do all my own work minus having my intercooler pipes bent and welded (i didn't have a TIG welder) and the powdercoating.

had an 85 gsl-se when i was 16 got a 88 se when i was 17 and bought it back a year ago. Got the loan for my 94 touring MB as a graduation present and have been building it ever since. my 04 Rx-8 was puchased about 3 months ago with 15k original miles.

My FD (touge/streetcar)

i do however need to raise my radiator up about an inch and a half at he front and the rear.

this was my final assembly the last time i pulled the engine.

i got this car back for $200 to keep the friend i sold it to from letting it get crushed over a title loan after he blew it up. I was gonna fix it with my nephew as a project for his first car but he said he didn't want to jump into an engine swap so i am using it as my drift car. It is currently gutted and about to be stitch welded. The plan is to run it for a season on the 2 good N/A blocks i have. Next winter i am ordering a 20b from a local importer that the drift community here is friends with. i have access to a cnc mill and will turn it into a 20b PP N/A.

My FC (drift/track car)

it wasn't in the best condition when i got it back

Since then i have stripped it down and removed all the wiring. when it goes back together it will be only what it needs to run and pass inspection to get it to the track.

25lbs of dry ice and 30 minutes work.... no more sound deadining.

with this car and counting my fiance's miata we now have an all mazda driveway. No plans for this car keep it stock and daily it. Although the miata might get some renisis treatment if i can get a hold of a wrecked rx8 clip.

thanks i have put a lot of time and money into the FD.

no its a gt i checked the vin with ray crowe before i bought it. it was ordered as a gt but with cloth interior the guy that owned it before me hated leather. the sport didn't come with heated mirrors. the grand touring is the touring package plus leather seats, 8 way pwr drivers seat, heated front seats with pwr lumbar support. U couldn't get the heated or pwr seats unless it was leather and he opted out of the leather but wanted the heated mirrors.

yeah the guy was kinda loaded i like his taste kinda wish he would have opted for navi though since its my daily. he owns his own body shop and drag racing team told me he was only selling it cause his wife wanted a boat and he wasn't going in debt for a f@#$kin boat so he sold this, a 7.5sec promod drag car with trailer. i don't know what kind of boat it is but its gotta be expensive.

My FC was ordered special like that too. It's a 91 overstock (92 sold).
It has all the turbo options without the turbo drive-train. I can't wait to get my FC running again.

BTW, you were talking about Renesis goodness, I'll be putting a Renny in the FC. I haven't decided yet if the bridge-ported renny is going in the RX8 or the FC... I want it in both... lol. If I like it in the 8, I may have Brian Cain port my other engine for the FC... we'll see... The motor going in the 7 will have some experimental parts in it so I may be forced to leave it stock just to get an accurate test out of it.

ur right i would test ur parts first but speaking of renisis swaps my fiance's miata will be getting one. she originally wanted a '99 FD engine with the twins but in a 2300lb miata i think that with a intercooler and power FC would be too much. I am thinking a bone stock renisis with the 6spd would be perfect in that car i have already started measuring.

thanks

no, currently the GT-K is not configurable so u have to buy one off the shelf with what ever specs they make. I custom ordered mine it is a turbonetics 62-1 with a .81 ar ratio and ceramic ball bearings. if i had bought the standard 62-1 it would have be a 1.10 ar ratio.
