My Broken FD
You will need Photobucket Hotlink fix adon to view the photos in this post
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/d...bifiaedg?hl=en Thanks. Hi, I have had my RX7 for a couple of years now, its been a real labour of love It's a 1992 FD since i have had it, I have done some things. Here s the car the day i got it It has had a bit of a hit in the front and bent the rail and needs a rad support I quickly set around to stripping the car down and repairing the accident damage getting pulled straight here you can see where the rail was kinked pretty straight now radiator support panel is off now and the chassis measuring system is under the car here is a copy of the data sheet that shows where all the points in the car should be Test fitting before welding Welded and fitted, ready for the insides to be painted. Continued in the next post... Last edited by SPRSTA; 07-10-2018 at 08:41 PM.. Reason: Photobucket fix link. |

At this point the engine went back in.
I got another bumper and test fitted some bits I was planning to run on the body. Got myself a new computer. Did some wiring Got it to run. (completely untuned) (not sure if youtube works on the BB here) First run and idle - YouTube When I got the car it was running on the factory ecu. It had the OMP removed and a single HT18 turbo. there were alot of loose bolts and dodgy things in the engine bay. I got myself a Nightsports T04b hybrid upgrade for the turbo as i wanted to keep things small and responsive on the road. So this is the way she was when it went off for the first setup and tune. |

Locked and loaded.
Roll on 8am tomorrow fingers (toes, arms, and legs) crossed for a good outcome Man, I wish my shed had exhaust pipes!! Setting up pre dyno loaded up Here is a little video while doing some lower range runs (not very exciting) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CHGcye0DDvA Sadly the enlarged internal wastegate on the turbo was too small and was giving some boost spikes up to a bar, not ideally where i would like it so we gave up on the tuning for the day and i'll have a new manifold made with a 60mm external wastegate and do it all over again. Not that it matters much but this is the chart. there is plenty more to be done. Last edited by SPRSTA; 07-10-2018 at 08:45 PM.. |

Then I took the car back into work to start on the repaint.
Here are a couple of progress pics. In primer Got some primer down last week got the shell rubbed down today. Roll on some colour. So the shell has some colour on it now. Boy does it look good!! First we needed to lay a black base down over the primer so that the colour wouldn't look blotchy then some of the colour in all of its magnificence. Its pretty hard to see the colour in these photos but it really looks awesome out in the sun. Super excited to get some colour on all the bolt on panels and get it back together for good!!:bouncin: EDIT: Rear end of the car is pretty much back together now. just got the windows to go back in stuck my diffuser on today too. ガレージ十二 click here for more Last edited by SPRSTA; 07-10-2018 at 08:50 PM.. |

Looks great! Why did you change your mind on the other bumper and skirts that you test fitted?
