Since you Rx8 owners are going to get your panties in a bunch, why not put the production rotaries on the sides (10A, 12A, and 13B) Maybe even put "Mazda 10A" "Mazda 12A" and "Mazda 13B" to fill in more space. Then on the top engrave something like the 40th AE logo. That way no one gets offended.

I really like the idea of the Rx7 generations on the sides. I may be an Rx8 owner as well, but how many Rx8 owners are going to be buying oil caps for their 8? My guess is not as many as Rx7 owners, and the Rx8 owners that do end up buying them will more than likely be like me and own an Rx7 as well.

I didn't notice how old this thread is. Is there any updates at all on this product?

Yeah, it's gonna be a while before this design swings into action, I have a few other products on my plate right now. An FD owners complaining my reg oil cap doesn't fit, so I promised him I send him a new one when it's out. But this is definitely NEXT on the list.

I think I'm going to go with the design below.

Simple enough?Laser etched gens on the side. And I'll have some "blank" ones as well non etched ones for the 8 kids.

Generation Fonts

FB

FC

FD

FC and FD fonts seems to be fairly similar.

The ball is rolling.

is that what u plan to do is jut have the "RX-7" in the font on each side or are you gonna put the years etc?

I think if u just did the "RX-7" font it would not stand out as much especially since I agree that the FC and FD font is almost identical...

MAN I am getting anxious

We're still working on this item everyone, haven't forgot about it. It's in one of the stages of product manufacturing. = )

I have a few FD owners hinting that my current oil cap does not fit their cars with the strut brace in place. So I referred them to this thread. lol

New Oil Cap ETA has not been determined yet, but it will be after SSXI. = (
But before X-Mas'08.

Rotors for your dip sticks should be out in less than 2 weeks though!

Free Oil Cap? Ohh that's right! How about just a VERY nice discount for all of you?! Since you all helped out pretty much!

We're going to have to change up the product pipeline a little bit due to customer feedback/requests at SSXI..but we will make another oil cap.
We're just working on something a little more "requested".
