Anyone know how to eliminate PS side airbag from circuit?

On '94-'95 cars, does anyone know how to "trick" the computer into thinking a removed passenger side airbag is still there so the trouble light will go off and the warning beeps will not go through the three cycles every time the car is started?

i would like to know the resistor for this as well... iv read some use the same as the ones to trick the ecu when removing solenoids for the turbos and another guy said he used a what was it a 194 light bulb but i have yet to try either anyone with a write up?

Do you still need the driver side airbag as well?

If you don't need either bag then you can just unplug the module on the driverside footwell, its above your right foot if sitting in the seat. Black module with yellow sticker and 2 plugs going into it.

If you need the passenger or driver bag then anything from a 10 ohm to 330 ohm resistor should work on whichever side is deleted. A bulb would work too since it adds resistance to the system, but resistors would be easier to work with.

If you just take the airbag diagnostic bulb out, then you will get several beeps instead.

Yes, the driver's airbag is being retained, and needs to function properly.

So, not to sound too ignorant, but just to make sure I understand correctly, I just need to jump a resistor between the plugs (orange and blue)? The driver's airbag should still work correctly and won't deploy itself when the battery is hooked back up after installing the resistor on the passenger side aribag plugs?

I don't know the colors since my car is a 93 with no passenger airbag, but yes the idea is to trick the computer into thinking the airbag is still there with a resistor. The airbag would only deploy if the crash sensor tells the computer there's an impact. even if the passenger airbag was removed without adding a resistor there is no reason for the other airbag to deploy. You would just get an annoying light or beeping.

Thanks. My concern was primarily that the resistor value could not be too great (or too weak) to somehow trip the system (I knew about the sensors up front, but had/have no idea how the electrical impulses work such as voltage, amperage, etc. and I'm too lazy to check the electrical manual). I'll just make sure I stay within the 10-330 ohm range.

Just an FYI- the '94/'95 passenger airbag connectors are the same as the driver's side of a '93. My car is technically a '93, but I just installed a sub-1000 mile drivetrain and full wiring from a '94, but kept the '93 dash, hence needing to lose the passenger airbag.
