Default window problems

I got my car back from a body shop (used to be friends of mine, long story but basically they're not friends anymore because they royally screwed me over on my car, ruined the core support, lost pieces, stolen stereo, on top of everything else the paint job looks like shit and the only reason they finished it in 6 months is because I was all over them everyday after I returned from deployment, they're just real dirtbags).

Anyway, they had the doors off so they could paint the jambs and everything. They had the door wiring harness connectors covered when they painted, but I'm not sure if they were covered the whole time. My list of problems is below...

-Driver window is intermittent. Sometimes it will work, and just a little later it won't work at all. And it can be 5 minutes after you roll it up/down or 5 days, there is no rhyme or reason to it.

-Passenger window won't work at all. It worked the first day I hooked up the controllers, but hasn't since.

-power mirrors won't work at all. I did replace the stock mirrors with Ganadors, but I hooked all the wiring up before/while installing them.

-power locks won't work. Before, when locking/unlocking the driver's door, it would do the same for the passenger side. I never really checked to see if that's how all FDs were set up. And my linkage to the inner handle is broken anyway (something else they broke), so it's hard telling.

So what I'm thinking is maybe paint and/or clearcoat got into the connectors, or maybe the passenger side motor is burned out (haven't tested the motors yet) and the driver's side has messed up wiring somehow. I have checked the fuses and they're all good. I've swapped out window controllers with my roommate's FD and they don't work either, so I'm fairly certain it's not that. I'll probably check the motors, then if that doesn't produce positive results I'll pull the fenders so I can get to the connectors and make sure they aren't messed up. Oh, the rubber boot on the passenger side connector isn't pressed on all the way, I'm wondering if that could be part of the problem.

Any ideas? Does the FD have a body control module? I've been looking in the FSM but no luck yet.

Default help on the way

All the electrical goes through the drivers door then to your passenger door, i would start with the drivers side door jamb wiring. It will be a pain in the butt to play with the connector with the fender or door on the car. If someone put paint on the body side electrical pins that will be sucktackular. Second check out the pins on the passenger door. Been working on these cars for a while now and i have never changed door window motor or power lock motor. i have changed lh door window switches because they fall apart. If you have a 93 and you need the LH window switch use the one from the 94 and up it has the express down feature and it is a plug and play.

Alright thanks man! I have a 94 actually, I have the auto-down feature, if that's what you're talking about. Well, I HAD the auto-down feature HAHA. Oh I'm definitely taking the fenders off. I was just wondering if there was anything in the door itself that could have failed before I take the fenders off and end up not fixing anything haha.

Default window problems

When mine came back from the bodyshop, the door connectors were not completely inserted. They looked like it but as soon as you gave a tug they came out. I suspect they did not completely assemble the connectors together. They connect just under the dashboard and go through the door at the hinge. Good luck on this.

No shit huh? Yeah I'll have to check on that. Mine look like they're connected too but maybe they aren't. That sounds like a reasonable conclusion! I'll check it out, thanks!!

REVIT93RX7, you are correct!!

I pulled the fenders off and checked the connections. I started with the passenger side, not sure why haha, but it was connected fully. The rubber boots were pulled off though so I put those back on. Then I pulled the driver's fender and it wouldn't connect all the way. There are two added wires going through the top of the connector, I assume for an alarm that used to be in there, and when the jackasses at the shop put it back in, they didn't pull those wires tight from the inside while plugging it in, so the wires bunched up and made contact with the other pins and wouldn't allow it to connect all the way.

So there you have it.
