At the RPM's they normally kick in, you really don't need them.
As for the perforations being clogged, it doesn't really matter - the fuel does not need to shoot through them to be effective. The big problem is that the fuel injector (tip) actually sits in them. Without them, they will not center in their holes. The lower grommet actually seals the tips, so this might or might not be a problem. -Ted
