There are huge arguements over 2mm vs. 3mm seals and dino vs. synthetic and other changes.

IMO--Starting out--If you have a realiable rotary mechanic / tuner near by - do what he recommends. If something breaks or doesn't go as expected you are more likely to get help if that person agress with your mods. I am not just talking about getting a refund or such, but trouble shooting pesky problems. I think you will run into problems if the local shop (who again has a good rep) thinks that such and such a mod was done at the wrong time or done improperly - even if others said it was okay. Again this is IMO-from seaching the boards for many years.

I have no experiance with RX8's. A friend of mine's cousin traded his back in when the warrany expired because his flooded at lot and he lives far away from a Mazda dealership. I personally have not had any flooded experiance with my FD.

I am not a fan of my reman in my car--look for a realiable rebuild if possible over a reman.

Herpes - may be more fun than being soaked in car fluids and not getting the job done.
