Caim, building slow one day at a time

Well this is my build thread. Here is a few pics of the car as a whole.

Well I wanted to start one of the build threads on here, but I have done so much to the car in such a little time that I had no idea where to start. So I figured that I would start at the point of the last motor build that I did with the car all the way to somewhat present. There has been a lot of work done to the car and I have done it all in house and by myself. I do have to give a great big thanks to dale clark for teching me everything that I know and showing me things that I would have had to post so much to learn. He really knows a lot about these cars. Thanks man.

But here it goes hahaha.

This is what started the project. I have been wanting to go single for a long time but never had the money. I had a friend that lost a motor and did not want the single set up any more, so I called him and he let me have the turbo (60-1) manifold, dp, oil lines, intake, wastegate, and all the odds and ends for 500. Turbo was in great shape just not big enough for what I wanted so I sold it for 400 ha and went on the hunt for something larger.
This is some pics of the motor when it was still in pieces and the car in the garage with my old bike.

Did not get any pics of the motor going back together, but this is not my first rodeo so I was not to worried about that.

Some other odds and ends to the car before I cleaned them up

Painting the front mount and the front cover and parts so they look bling bling for the build ha.

This is a pic of the old turbo on the motor before I went with the new set up.

I never got finished pics of the project, but here is some porting I did and also polishing to a uim.

I found some new defi’s for 50 in the box so I went with those hahaha. Did not have the extra cash at the time to go with the dash mount pod so I decided to mount them here.

This is when I decided that I did not like the look of the 93 center bezzle so I went with the wrinkle paint to make it look more 94ish hahaha. Ballin on a budget.

I finally found the turbo that I wanted. It is a gt37r garret. It was off the ams 1g talon. I put a lot of work into that car and also parted it out for the owner. So he gave this to me as some compensation.

I went with the kg parts secondary rail with the 1680’s. My dog would not move for the shot, he likes attention.

Yes I know I look like a goon, but it was cold when I was putting the motor back in… and no lie, the dog was helping. I did not make him sit there at all, I had to put a towel down so he did not scratch the car hahaha.

New turbo on the block before install.

There are a lot of install pics missing just because I did not want to post a second by second thread hahahaha. But this is after the install when I did my brakes.

Materials

Before

After, I have put another coat on since this picture.

The new front lip

HID’s, man I love these things.

Finished pics (about 2 months ago)

Just did this today, but I turned and painted the rotors so they did not look crappy and slightly rusted.

Before anything was done

Cleaned off the rust

Paint applied

Turning the rotors

On the car and finished, way easy and man it looks so much better.

All done for now… I have been working on the car all this week and need to get all the new pics up. A lot more has changed. But this is what I have for now. Will be updating soon.

Oh and a little something for giggles and haters.

I'm not feeling the loopy hotside intercooler piping but other than that you have taken your FD a long way. Excellent job man!

Haha yeah. I just made that pipe out of spare piping that I had at the time till I can work up some cash to make a new one with better piping. That is why I just spray painted it black. It will be gone soon. Thank man for the comment though I do hate it.
