Default Aftermarket hood

Ok guys so I'm thinking of going with an aftermarket hood. Any suggestions? I was looking at a carbonfiber TII style hood from VIS (i think). Just wondering what else is out there?

here is a thread about hoods:
http://rotarycarclub.com/rotary_foru...ead.php?t=3655

I like the TII hood but kinda pointless to spend bank on a product that is already light enough in aluminum form.....good luck.

I have a fiberglass one that looks like the one from rx7pro.com (or something)

functional reverse vented hood, drops engine bay temps down ALOT looks pretty hot too.

I've always been a fan of D-max (afterall, they tested their hoods to show a huge temp drop) but finding a dealer that can get it to you for under $2K (CF) is hard.

I can get a few that look like the Dmax hood for cheap...like $375 plus shipping cheap. They fit pretty decent, I fitted one on my car...just dont like the Dmax hood, myself.

True, but they're reasoning and animations behind that temp drop are all wrong.

I like the rear vent on this hood. Wonder if someone makes one with just the rear vent, priced well, and good fitment

the animations may be "wrong" but in the end the thermometer shows a huge temp drop, one way or another, it's working....and as far as the diagram, I'm not aerodynamics engineer but i still don't see how that area by the windshield sucks air IN towards the engine bay. Turbulence?? for sure, but air flows towards the back no matter what...

Pics of the hoods in question are in the thread I posted above.

I got mine from someone locally for 200 picked up new.

it looks like this (but fiberglass and white)

it also comes with rain inserts for the vents.

I'm not sure where to get them but they are the GT300 style and range from around 350+

I recommend it, you can see the heat come out the engine bay and with the angle of the radiator and how the air hits the car it just goes straight out, its fun on hot days seeing the heat mirage out of your hood at a stop light lol.

I'll get pics of the Dmax style hood this week, hopefully tomorrow. And i'll post them up, my buddy really wants to get rid of them. I probably wont get one fitted on a car, seeing as his FC is wrecked and I still have a top mount..If I get enough time this week, I'll try to snap some pics of one on my car.

This hood is very cool looking. Any issues with fitment?

I have the same hood on my TII....I just got it from another seller (check the HISGTUs link in my sig.)

I like the whole hood overall even though fitment isn't perfect.
