Yep at this point, all of the OEM stock is the later casting/thicker casting babies.

Interesting point about the ovalling of the dowel land in the housing, never thought about that but it seems to make sense - check it for sure though

Oh and have fun with the OEM iron's ports They're usually rougher then jason statham's stuble.

Don't tell me that dude! I am already dreading attempting my first port job. I might practice on a scrap iron just to make sure I don't scar a 375.00 dollar part.

Yes, it definitely takes practice. I tried it out on a junk iron before and made fatal mistakes multiple times. I do not recommend using a brand new iron for your first attempt at porting. You could probably pick up a junk iron or 2 for fairly cheap to learn on.
