V/HMIC
![]() I know Ian managed to do his HMIC with no cutting at all though. However, being a 6-port turbo...... I would try to find one of those intercoolers with the in/out on the same side. Shift the intercooler over to one side and have the piping run together. Actually weld it together would look pretty slick, In my mind anyway. |

I'm thinking about just cutting the holes just infront of the windshield washer reservoir and then plumbing it all together. The intercooler I currently have is perfect for my needs but the fitment isn't exactly spectacular (the price however was just right). I would normally consider picking up a new intercooler as you have described but funds are going to be a little tight since I'm rebuilding my engine. I think I have the pipe mapped out in my head, but I would still appreciate pictures and the works of different F/V/H mount setups.

I layed into some little nooblet in a PM, after a blankity blank blank admin told us to take the squable to PM's. Said little nooblet was on the verge of tears in a reply in which he gave me his cell phone #, so we could work it out
![]() While the PM wasn't exactely my best work, it was suffiecient, I CC'ed a buddy on the humor so I still have the PM's in my e-mail, one of my mod friends was reading the PM in the mod section while I was on the phone with him. The tears of laughter left a mist of wet on my ears. Quote:

sorry I had just woken up at that point. I meant along the lines of comparison to running a Top mount as way of cooling benefits, and V mount in the ability of opening up the engine bay for easier access to the engine. I've already cut up the front portion of the engine bay where the radiator sits. This is to allow the vertical mounting of the new radiator and provide me with around 3-4 inches of extra room towards the bottom of the engine. For this specific setup it doesn't mean much but my future plans (unknown date) will require a little more room from the engine. This also causes me to move the oil cooler about 2-3 inches forward from its current position (maybe not that much) further increasing the available room. As for comparison to the H-mount setups I'm not entirely sure how I would run it on my application or the difference in cooling benefits would be.
Once the mounting is complete I'll also have the ability to step up to a larger core on the intercooler just by dropping the old one and putting in the new one. There should be ample room for the increase in volume from the new intercooler in the future.
