Cleaning out a few different things
So I have had a lot of condensation build up from a failed PCV valve. I'm curious on how to best get rid of it since I now have the oil pan off and can easily wipe most of it.
I would like to clean all of it out, or at the very least get the most out that I can before putting everything back together. Could I use Brake Cleaner to get the condensation in the dip stick location and fill tube? On the other side how can I stop this from occurring again? Just install a check valve and use silicon hose to hook up to the Throttle body location? I am removing all the emissions so it should be rather interesting. Also I have removed both my primary and secondary fuel rails and noticed that every connection on them was encased in rust. Which is probably why I had an injector get stuck open. What I would like to know is how do I best clean out the rust deposits from the fuel rail, and what else can I do to ensure that no more rust gets into the fuel rail? I also plan on replacing the fuel filter, but what about the lines previous to that? Do I need to clean those and if I do, how do I go about cleaning them? I've checked the fuel tank, but it's pretty clean. Almost no rust deposits at all. The catch net is in place and almost everything else seems to be intact. For the fuel rails should I just shove a bore brush inside and just let it go (brass being the type of bore brush)? (S4) Also something else that I'll need a little help with, what are the thread sizes of the three threaded portions of the fuel rails?
