Rep Power: 0 | Flooded engine.

88 Mazda covertable, 13B engine. Engine keeps flooding. I Had a plugged catalyctic coverter. I removed it and tried to start engine. I had to remove the injector fuse and crank for 10 seconds, then wait and then crank for another 10 seconds. Before that there was raw gas running out of the exhaust pipe. After 2 more 10 second cranks I replaced the fuse and the engine finally started. I ran it for about five minuets and it ran just fine. I stopped it and restarted it right away. I let it sit for about 2 hours and it just flooded again. So another go around with out the injecter fuse and the 10 second cranking many times before replacing the fuse and then it started. I put Sea foam injecter cleaner in to fresh gas and ran it for about 2 hours. I shut if off and started it again right away. Shut it off for about 3 hours tried to start if again and it flooded so bad it would not even fire and I could smell raw gas and it was running out of the exhaust pipe. Can anyone help me? buddyboy555

umm, a cold start issue isn't/shouldn't be compression related. That's usually reserved for most hot start issues. Start it again, let it run for 10 minutes, then shut it off. Don't start it and turn it immediately off, I have heard of this before but have yet to find a resolution besides the Rtek units or stand alone. |
