Paint question

Hi to all-new member here. First post. 1993 R1 original owner. Going to be painting car soon. Q. What about the stone guard along the bottum of the car? Assuming it's vinyl. Should I remove it and will it come off easy? Thinking I would paint it smooth like the rest of the car.Car is stock except exhaust and want to keep it as an original. Would removing take away from value down the road. Who would keep it and who wouldn't? Thanks for your thoughts Darren
