Default Some wiring questions...

Ok, so recently I rewrapped my chassis harness, and put it back in the car...

I ran into some funny issues. first, is the fuse box cover. I can SWEAR there was a ring terminal I had to bolt up to the fuse box before, but now I have nothing???

Here's a pic:

Also, I have this random ground, where does it go?

Did I do what I think I did and wrap it wrong? I have some plugs that just dont make sense right now with trying to put everything back in, lol.

There's definetley a ring terminal for the fuse panel. Thats the main power....

I'll look at my chassis tonite and see if I can find that two wire ground...it looks familiar.

EDIT: Ok, so I feel really stupid right about now!

I was looking at the box with some spare parts in it, and I was like... wait, wtf is this?

It turns out that I completely forgot about the charging harness that also goes in the area. I will have to take it all apart and re-wrap it as well, since it's pretty nasty right now.

PS: I still dont know where that ground in the second pic goes btw, so if anyone has a sugesstion, I will be glad to hear it!

Hmmm...That ground kind of looks like the one that goes on top of the block, but it's nowhere near that area. I'll go take a look on my car real quick (hopefully it's the same between S4 and S5.)
EDIT: well, I went and looked and didn't see any of those type of grounds in that area. I'll take a better look tomorrow (It [u]is[/i] 3 in the morning).

how would the ground migrate from the engine harness to the body harness? lol

btw, the FSm shows the chassis ground points, all of them, at least the S4 manual does.

It is an RX7, I learned never to question these things at an early age.

For what it is worth, when I removed my engine, I discovered I had 0 grounds going to the chassis.... again, never question these things. It's like Santa Claus, if you ask questions, he won't ever come to your house again, and that is just a sad sad thing.

ok, i still dont know where the hell that gound goes, but I did get the chassis harness fully re-wrapped and put it back on.

Now, for a question about the fuse box, guys, which side does the black wire w/ white stipe go? I put on the the side with one bolt)

But I thought that maybe it should go on the other sidem, because the stripe wire is a ground? (The side with 2 bolts on it seems to branch out to the other fuses, so maybe the gound should go there???)

Ok, thanks people!

EDIT: LOL at the /\ post!

Well on the fuse box on my S5 Vert the black wire with the white stripe goes to the side facing the strut tower on the top bolt (might be the only bolt there on that side). The other solid black wire faces the front of the car connected to the bottom bolt.

As for that ground I was looking and saw that I have one that looks like that and it bolts to the back side of the strut tower right next to the trailing coil pack.
