head light conversion

I am doing the head light conversion on an 86 RX7. And wanted to know what to do with the headlight motors and wires. The simple thing would be to remove them but they are wired into the harness. Not sure to cut and cap the wires and if that would cause electrical problems?

How's your headlight conversion project? We will be working on a RX7 right after we finished installing the new rack and tonneau covers on the current truck project. The owner is considering to use hid headlight.
